The Good Samaritan Part 2

Part 2 God be with you! Luke 10 25And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? 26He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? 27And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. 28And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. 29But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? 30And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. 31And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. 33But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, 34And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee. 36Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that

Remember that after King Solomon’s death his kingdom split in two; Judea in the South and Israel in the North. When God sent the Assyrian Empire to exile them for descending into paganism some stayed behind. These intermarried with their pagan neighbors and the Assyrians becoming the Samaritans. Later they returned to the God of Israel. But they still only regnize the First Five Books of Moses and worship at Mt. Gerazim instead of Jerusalem.

if i’m correct, i think Samaritans were a racial mix of Israeli and Greek. and i think back then the Jews were somewhat prejudice.

Why were the Samaritans hated by the Jews so badly? Even if I was a Jew, I wouldn’t hate a Samaritan for anything.

williss11, your neighbour is your fellow man. Everyone you see, in your life. This is so terrible, no one will help this poor man, except for the considered enemy The Samaritan.

As much as I’d like too, the only reason I put up this video was to encourage others to buy them. Visit their website or your local Christian bookstore and you’ll find them. They have many more videos.

That was the whole point of the coming of Jesus. All men are considered unclean before God. Before Jesus came, Priests were to avoid such encounters for the sake of keeping themselves separate and unique from other Jews. When Jesus came, God established the universal and true theme that ALL men are unclean, and helping others should come first before we put pride over us. Any ways, the man on the way to Jericho wasn’t a Samaritan, so they still could have assisted the man.

Acts 10:15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

Acts 10:28: And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

The “priest ” was right not to touch the man. If the seed of Aharon touched blood or any unclean thing, he himself would be unclean. He could not cary out his duties as a priest. This is anti-semetic and a prime example of how Christians know nothing of G-d or his Torah. May he deal with them swiflty and all those who corrupt his name.

They were outcasts, unclean people considered by the Jews. I think it was because they had a lineage of Jew and Gentile, but also because they turned away from the law. I’m not completely sure, but Jesus changed all that with this parable and his gospel!
